     About Camp Blue Ridge

We are happy to announce that we have found a fabulous new home for Camp Unleashed at Camp Blue Ridge Resort & Retreat Center), surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, in Mountain City, Georgia, slightly north of Dillard, Georgia. The camp is about 90 minutes from Asheville, just over the North Carolina/Georgia State Line.

Camp Unleashed takes place in mid October-- optimal time to enjoy the area’s spectacular Fall Leaf Color Show! Our host, Camp Blue Ridge has 250 beautiful acres with ample space indoors and outdoors. All cabins and rooms in lodges  have electricity and indoor showers and toilet facilities. There are two large, lush green fields, two crystal clear lakes with small beaches and ample dock diving piers and a 9000 sq. ft. large indoor gym with cement floors (perfect for wet, muddy dogs).

Hike in a lush natural setting with waterfalls…  Take a canoe ride or go for a swim. Meet new friends. Camp Unleashed Blue Ridge is a safe, relaxing haven from the stresses of the world.  Discover who your dog is when in his/her natural environment--when immersed in nature.  Pair up for fun at agility, scent games or dock diving.  Paddle boat together around the lake and take in the views.   Hear presentations on the latest dog behavior science and nutrition. Howl around the evening campfire. Or just hang out together and do nothing at all.

Camp Unleashed Blue Ridge is a weekend retreat limited to 50 people and their dogs. Keeping the group small makes it a more personal, more relaxing experience, and gives everyone a chance to focus on more meaningful relationships. Daily activities are planned to keep the dogs active and participatory. Presentations and workshops teach campers how to take the best care of their dog by understanding the dog’s point of view.  Sports are led by experts who believe that engaging your dog’s sensory perception and problem-solving skills fulfills your dog’s natural inclinations, making for a happier, healthier hound friend.  Participation in activities is optional. Some campers may choose to simply relax by the lake and enjoy a vacation in nature with their dogs.

Nearby is Black Rock Mountain State Park,
Georgia's highest state park, which encompasses some of the most outstanding scenery in Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The roadside overlooks provide spectacular 80-mile vistas, and four hiking trails lead visitors past wildflowers, streams, small waterfalls and lush forests. Visitors enjoy the summit visitor center for its views, gift shop and picnic tables. They have campsites and cottages in case campers want to extend their vacation before or after camp. Also nearby is Dillard, Ga., an antique lover’s paradise with over 40,000 square feet of antiques to explore and the famous Dillard House, which has some cottages that are pet friendly, but reserve soon if you want to stay there before or after camp as the North Georgia Mountains are a very popular place, especially in the Fall.
