Caitlin has been with Camp Unleashed Asheville for the past four years and served as Off Leash Behavior Director there in 2014. Caitlin has years of experience training dogs and enjoys working with cats and horses as well.
She began her journey to become a dog trainer in 2006 when she graduated from The University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s in Animal Science and went on to graduate from Animal Behavior College in 2007. She became a CPDT-KA in the fall of 2011 and a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2012. She has worked with veterinarians, technicians, and kennel staff to implement a low stress restraint and handling program based on Dr. Sophia Yin’s book Low Stress Handling and Restraint and Behavior Modification. Caitlin became a licensed presenter for Dogs and Storks in 2013 and enjoys working with expectant families to prepare their four legged family members for the new arrival.
From 2013-2015 Caitlin served as the Head Trainer for the Dog Door Behavior Center and as part of her position she became a consultant to the Asheville Humane Society and implemented the DRIVE program. While at Asheville Humane Society Caitlin trained staff and volunteers including creating behavior classes and outreach programs for foster situations. Currently, Caitlin is operating her own training business in western North Carolina as well as working for Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation. Caitlin shares her home with her husband and three dogs and when not working can be found riding her horse.
